Photo courtesy of KebI love writing about restaurants I enjoy and I enjoy it even more when the next time I walk in to the restaurant, I see my post, links and all, framed on the wall behind the cash register. I love to bring up something about the post and then they say, "Yeah, isn't that a great review?" I respond, "Yeah, I'm glad I wrote it, you guys are great!" That is usually when they ask for a stack of my cards to put on the counter.

But, last night I went to a restaurant that I normally enjoy and was thinking about writing a review. But the food wasn't the same and the service, well it wasn't either, but it was still better than the average restaurant out there.

Last night when I walked in to this restaurant, something caught my eye. There was another agent's business cards on the counter. This is not a big deal. I had never talked to the owner or ever given him a business card, so why should mine be out over this other agents? I was curious, what did this agent do for this owner that made this owner want to put his business cards on his counter? Did this agent find them their dream home? Did this agent help them buy this business? What was it?

As my family and I sat down and I took the card of this other agent to look at it, I pondered why I should have my business card in every establishment in town when the waiter came up to our table and asked if he could take our order. The rest of the family placed their order while I was still looking at the menu. As I looked up at the waiter to give him my order, I saw a very familiar face, it was the one on the business card.

You see the reason this agent got his business cards put out on the counter was he worked there! I didn't want to pry, but yet I did. Was this a new agent trying to break in to real estate? Was it an agent trying to make ends meet while waiting for a close or was it an agent that had been in the business 20 years and was slowly leaving the business, but still wanted to dabble in real estate? I guess inquiring minds want to know, but I wasn't sure how to react. I also have to wonder if anyone else who had taken the card that was possibly interested in real estate also noticed that their waiter was their agent.

I may be posting a review of this restaurant in the near future, but I certainly won't be including that. If you are interested in real estate, please ask to be seated in Paul's section and ask him how the real estate market is.
