I’m not sure what that would look like… someone exploding confetti, but I was pretty sure I was about to find out. You see, this last Thursday was the first day for baseball for my four year old daughter (soon to be five). The morning of the first practice she asked the question, “How long until practice, because I’m so excited I could explode confetti!”
WOW, that is excited! Out of the mouth of babes come some of the most unusual statements you will ever hear in your life. But I’m happy to say she made it to practice that night without exploding. There were a few times, during the day, that I thought I would have to put her in a small room by herself, just for the safety of others, just in case it really did happen.
So, what is the most excited you have been? I would have to say for me, it was waiting the last week or so after I got tickets to see Paul McCartney live!

TC,
We had our first 'kid pitch' softball game on Saturday...My Emily (8 year old) had the first hit and drove in a couple of runs...I exploded confetti...!!! LOL, Thanks, Fran
Todd
Your daughter looks bound and determined to play baeseball in the picture.
Tom
I loved your post! Kids say the best things. Enjoy the baseball season. I know I loved going to my kids games when they played.
Please remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!

Exploding confetti, now that would be a sight that I could live without seeing. I can tell by her crossed arms that she was holding herself together. LOL How cute.
I would say the most excited I have been was at game 5 of the ALCS - Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay. Boston battled back from a seven run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning. They were playing so poorly, that many of the fans had left the stadium. Too bad, it was an unbelievable rally. I couldn't speak for two days. No confetti, but I had to be close.
I saw Paul McCartney live, it was a great show. I had to be close then too. :D
Hope you are writing down the precious things your kids say like this so you'll be able to remember them in a few decades -- this one is priceless!
Out of the mouths of babes. I love the words and tell her I'll use it the next time I get excited. It could be quite a mess in my case. 230 pounds of confetti
I get a big kick out of the wide eyed wonder and enthusiasm kids put into what interests them. Exploding confetti is a cool visualization. SHe will go far
Todd, In my youth it was going to the Cat Stevens concert. I was in love with him. Do you even know who he is? LOL
Fran - Nice, congratulate her for me! That is just to awesome... Way to be proud pappa!
Tom - Had she been born one day later, she wouldn't have been able to play this year, she is the youngest person in the league, but she has got the attitude to match the whole rest of the team! (Didn't pick on flower)
Michael - I am coaching three teams this year, I try to enjoy them the best I can, but I'm usually so tired, it is hard sometimes.
Judy - I know, that was our thought, but the worst part about it is we thought she could actually do it! I won't tell my son that you were at the Red Sox game he is a huge fan! Long live Johnny!
Margaret - We certainly are! She is going to be very embarrassed at her wedding. (LOL)
Terry - I think it is a phrase that should catch on nationwide!
Todd, thanks for sharing the personal moment. I always like to come across these tidbits from my "blog friends".
Todd - Your daughter is a chip off the old block. She's adorable. I do hope that baseball lived up to her high expectations.
Hi Todd!

As soon as I read your title, I thought "What a great phrase...I will have to remember it!"...before knowing that was what it was about! Thanks to your daughter for a fun saying!
WOW! Todd,
Expresing feelings through writing is probably one of the hardest things to communicate... your excitement about your little daughter's accomplishments shows without a problem... you have a huge reazon to be proud of.
Martin
Jeff - Kids are so wonderful in the way they think, they don't even think before saying, they just say it.
Marlene - I know it did, she didn't want to leave and I think her smile throughout that first practice was the largest I had ever seen.
Paula - I hope it catches on because that would be cool to say my daughter came up with a new phrase.
Martin - Thanks, I'm just happy to see I've raised another one with a love for sports. I will never push sports on my kids, we always ask if they want to participate, if they say no, it won't bother me. They need to become their own person.
Adorable picture and what a great way of describing her excitement. Definitely one to write down and not ever forget.
Irene - I think we should all take this statement and start to use it. I would love to see my daughter be the source of such a great statement for generations to come.
Todd,
Totally agree with you. Now that you found she wants to move forward and is putting out a lot of effort, support her and stay by her side at all times. I would've loved one of my daughters had stayed on sports, but none of them wanted to get involved. I'm like you, they didn't want to keep going and I never forced them and never will.
Martin
Martin - It says something about you as a father in the way you raised your daughters to never force them to do something they didn't want to do, just because you wanted to see them do it. - Good for you!
Todd, what a cute story. I love how children share such pure thoughts. ;-) The most excited I've ever been? When I had my first child! No question! ;-)
Teri - Pure joy was felt when my kids were born, I wasn't sure about excitement, then it happened and it was pure joy.
