One of the great things about Beaverton, Oregon, and most of the Pacific Northwest, is how the people there want to be friendly to the environment. We have many people in Oregon and Washington to who do things such as recycle, compost, and even grow their own vegetables. But if your community as a whole doesn’t participate, sometimes you can feel your efforts aren’t doing a thing for the environment.
Well,
that is just one reason
Beaverton
is such a great place to live. Through efforts put forth
by
the City
of Beaverton a couple years ago, Beaverton, Oregon, became only the 5th
city in Oregon to be given the title of a “Green Power Community” by
the EPA.
Basically, that means the
City of Beaverton,
as a whole, exceeds the
EPA
guidelines for buying clean, renewable energy. I’m proud
to live in a
community,
such as Beaverton, where everyone can be proud of what the city is
doing for
the environment.
If you are considering moving to
Beaverton, Oregon, I would love to
help you
with all your relocation needs. Please feel free to give
me a call or
email me
with any questions you may have about relocating
to Beaverton, Oregon,
or any
of the surrounding communities.

©2009 Todd Clark - You and your family are eco friendly, but how about your city? Beaverton Oregon is!

Todd- Those growing their own vegis better be careful! That new farm bill they are trying to pass would come down hard on those farmers and gardeners that just want to grow for their own families and communities. One family was just arrested for having a coop in Ohio.

That's pretty impressive about being in the top five cities. How did the baseball team do?
Todd, it sounds like you city is trying to do the right thing. Now is it the city that is buying the green power or the residences of Beaverton?
It is amazing how much we can conserve if everyone just does a little. Congratulation to Beaverton.
Hi Todd,
Good for you and the other residents of Beaverton! Just like one vote can make a difference in an election, so can each and every person that saves a little energy.
Chicago is the greenest city or the greenest Major City in the U.S. I like seeing other taking this on... Kudos to you and Beaverton T.
Now if only my city, Vancouver WA, just 15 short minutes to the north, would figure the whole green thing out. Maybe someday!

I'm popping in to thank you for telling us about Clusty on Patricia's post. I ran a couple of searches and found the results more relevant than Google's. I'm dumbfounded by that :)
P.S. Do I really have to read your post? Wink :)
