Hyland
Forest Park in
Beaverton, Oregon, is certainly one of the hidden gems of Beaverton.
How
hidden? 15 years ago, I lived two blocks from this park and didn’t even
know it
was there. Now, there is a possibility that 15 years ago it wasn’t an
official
park, but I still wish I had known about the walking trails.
This park isn’t one with a play structure or bathroom, but it does seem to have endless walking trails. My kids loved this park and if it wasn’t coming up on dinner time, I’m not sure we wouldn’t have stayed another hour.
We started out what looked to be the middle of the park and we had a choice to go left or right. We choose right and then it was a park with what seemed to be endless choices of left or right. (We always let the kids decide, until it was time to get back to the car.)
We were walking close to an hour and a half, and until we started heading back to the car at an hour, I don’t think we duplicated our path at any point. I know for a fact that we still hadn’t visited a big section at the west end of the park. That would have been the section if we had chosen to go left when we entered the park instead of right.
Most of the trails were made of wood chips so there wasn’t any mud, I think you can walk this park year round.

What if there was a way you could search the MLS for FREE just like Realtors
Now you can access the MLS using similar tools as Realtors. You are in control of what you want to search for, and you can search the MLS at your leisure. The information you submit in the form below can also be used to put you on an automated system where you'll be emailed all homes that meet your search criteria. You'll get internet access to a website that includes pictures, prices, and addresses to real estate that's listed in the MLS!

Todd when I look at any of your pictures in Oregon I am amazed by how green everything is there. I have never been there but really want to see it bad. Has to be beautiful.
Todd
There is nothing like a great park. I bet Beaverton has a great park system.
TC,
My kind of park...!!! Thanks, Fran
Todd-- no bathroom and children for 1.5 hours? Your children are great ---this could be a problem for some. Thanks for sharing.
Todd, it sounds like you could have used a few bags of bread crumbs to find your way home!
Todd-- A very nice thing to have access to for sure. I agree with Liz!
A walk with the kids seems to me to be a great place for you and your kids to get to know each a little better.
As you describe your walk, I was thinking I would already be lost. I love waking parks like that. Specially the ease of walking without having to deal with mud.
This park was awesome and Liz, my kids our troopers! Heck I truly believe they are tougher than me now. (DON'T TELL THEM I SAID THAT)
