This statue of Paul Bunyan was a big controversy a couple years back because he was almost lost to "Progress" but thanks to public suport he was moved about 200 feet and saved!

Paul is located in North Portland to be honest I don't know the history behind him other than he was forced to be moved there when our MAX line went in. They were going to destroy him, but public outcry saved him and moved him to his present location.
