What a wonderful little church. It looks somewhat like the church that John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife Caroline had there wedding ceremony. What a wonderful find!
Todd,
It's amazing what you find in your own area when you open your eyes and go looking!
All the best, Michelle
I know that many of the older schools in our area were schools during the week and the church on Sunday. This helped save money. I've heard stories from my grandmother that many times the older boys had to ring the bell if too large since the teachers were so small at that time and couldn't do it by themselves.

Pretty interesting to think that not too long ago these would have been the center and drive of the local communitiy.
What a charming picture. I love finding undiscovered places, or at least previously undiscovered by me.
Charming building, I hope someone in your area can give you the history.
I see Todd, you go looking for old barns with your camera too...
Is Sunday your day of rest?
Paul
It looks like it has been well cared for, very quaint Todd! And a great find, I hope someone who knows the history will come forward!
Hi Todd... it's amazing when you go out exploring what wonderful treasures, like this one, you can find!
Todd.....wouldn't you love to see how classes were held back then....I bet they were awesome!
Todd ---- how neat is this -- hopefully, you can discover more about this unique building.

I LOVE this little building! It will be interesting to see if anyone that knows it's history provides the background. It definitely looks like a little schoolhouse, doesn't it? Keep us posted if you find out!
Hi Todd, i remember, growing up, a small church like the one in your picture. Many fond memories.
What a great find this was on your family outing, I bet it was the highlight of the day.
Todd.
I would have guessed this for a church but not the schoolhouse although many times school and church were held in the same building. :)
Steve
Todd, this is just a beautiful photo! I've seen people converting old schools into unusual looking homes.
Hi Todd - I've been doing alot of historical research the past week - I know how frustrating it is not to 'know'!
Debi
That's a really pretty old building. I'm glad that there are little gems like this still out there and thankful for people like you that share them with us all.
What a darling school house, reminds me of little house on the prairie.
