Living Beaverton - Your guide to everything Beaverton

Waiting on lightning is a lot like waiting for a buyer to call you when you aren’t advertising!

One thing I love about selling homes when I am the listing agent is getting the calls from potential buyers for those homes.
You can hear the hope in their voice that you have had the one home they have been looking for this whole time and have yet been able to find.

Waiting for lightning
This shot was one of 100 that looked exactly the same because I was waiting
for lighning for over 2 hours (Never did catch it, but I had my camera ready)

But, sitting there waiting for the phone to ring without advertising the home is a lot like waiting for lightning. The odds of catching it on camera are about a 1 in 1000! So, if you get a listing, don’t just put it in the MLS, advertise it, advertise yourself, your business and get that phone ringing, if the phone isn’t ringing, you aren’t making any money!

One thing that also amazes me is the agents that advertise and then don't answer the phone. What they heck are you advertising for if you aren't going to answer the phone. Why waste your time and money advertising if you aren't going to help the people that want your help?

If you are interested in selling your Tigard or Beaverton area home and want someone who will advertise and answer the phone then give me a call, I would love to help you get it sold fast and for top dollar today!

Lightening is so hard to catch. Much harder than the right buyer for a well priced listing. And now that advertising is virtually free, why do so many miss the beat?

Todd,

I totally agree!  Marketing a home is a major compotent of listing a home.  Those who are not marketing the home to buyers...and buyers are on line...are not doing their sellers the service they deserve!

Hi Todd,

Based on the photo and you waiting for lightening, I'll definitely tell you where to go for that.  Florida is the #1 place for lightening in the U.S., with Michigan as #2...  Luckily I lived in both states and can tell you how simultaneously spectacular and scary it was when you could turn off your lights and still be able to see where you were going due to the continuous light show...  ;>))

What are the odds of a lightning strike?  What are the odds of winning the lottery?  What are the odds of getting the lighting on a picture?  Same number.

Shhhhhhhhh! Don't tell the other agents to answer their phones! I get 4 to 5 called a month from other agents' listings because they never answered the phone. It is big business for me and if they start picking up...?

Lightning? Try photo Shop Pro.

The chance of lightning hitting you is slim.

But your chance of that happening is better than your chance of winning one of the big multi-state lotteries.

The chance of lightning hitting you twice when you stay in the same place?

Well, have you ever heard of the same person wining one of those big lottos...twice?

Todd, Do you think the people who fail to advertise and answer their phones are still at home waiting for the market to change to suit them. Hmmmm, I wonder about that. Good luck on getting that 'chance of a lifetime' lightning shot!

Hi Todd... great observation and analogy!  If you keep listings a secret it's not going to make that phone ring!

Todd very true.  And where, when and how you advertise is also a critical aspect.

You are so correct Todd, you need to be proactive if you want to make money in this business, you can't just sit and wait for a phone to ring if you aren't adverting a home.

Patience, Patience, Patience... I'll get there doesn't work if no one knows you are in business.
