Sometimes mother nature just decides to give you a break...

Deer in the front yard (Photo by Todd Clark)

Today while we were leaving the house, this is what we came out to see in our front yard. There was also a male and two other females, but this darling little girl wasn't going to be bothered by us today. I got within 15 feet of her while snapping shots and all she ever did was perk up her ears and look my way. She never did move her feet. I ended up take over 100 shots of her and was out there with her for 25 minutes before I decided I should let her be.

But, I did feel even with all my kids there (and they were) that I could have probably continued slowly enough that today she would have let me pet her. I've seen her almost everyday for the past couple months, but this is the closest she has let me get. I do love mother nature and today she decided to love me back. (or at least my camera)

Todd - She is beautiful. It looks like she found a great little bed and good shade to take a very nice break. Lucky you!

Todd,

Thats a great picture. I to love nature, the elk in Estes Park, Colorado will do the same thing during mating season. It is quite a site.

Hi Todd, That was a great capture for you and the family to have such a good vantagepoint. Maybe she felt safe and at home there.
