Living Beaverton - Your guide to everything Beaverton

Beaverton, Oregon and Beyond from Todd’s Eyes – Going back in time

I had anotheridea ofwhat to post on today when it came to“From Todd’s Eyes” today, but yesterday afternoon that allchanged when it was92 degrees here in the Portland area and I was at my brother’s place. Igot thechance to go out in his 1916 Model T and enjoy the wind in my hair andsee alot of friendly people.

Model T through my eyes

Now, one thing I’ve alwaysnoticed is people always willhonk and flip people off if they are not going the speed limit in frontofthem, they always seem to be in a hurry. But, to mostpeople, those rules don’tapply when they are behind an old car. Everyone seems to understandthat theclassics just couldn’t get up to today’s’ speed limits. It wasn’t ashurried ofa life and people don’t seem to mind looking at the classics and don’tcarethat it can’t go 30 mph.

So, here are some pictures ofeach of my family membersgetting their ride in my brothers Model T as well as a picture while weweredriving. I do have to admit I wanted to take more pictureswhile driving, but Iwas really enjoying the ride and I completely forgot I even had thecamera andonly took the one as we were leaving the driveway.

What a great looking classic car.  Thanks for taking the time to sharing.

Its amazing how friendly people get when you drive a classic. Not so nice when you are in your regular car.

That's one sweet ride Todd! I just went to a classic car show here in Raleigh and all I can say is, they just don't make 'em like they used to.

In a car like that, it would be easy to forget that it was 92 degrees ... looks like a LOT of fun!

Todd - Awesome pictures and you are absolutely right when classics like this are on the road nobody seems to care how slow they go.  In fact most of the time the other driver's slow down to look.

Todd now that looked like a good time.  There is no doubt life was so much more simple years ago.  I guess we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Hi Todd!
In my young years, B.D. (before driving), i always thought it would be fun to have a model t as my first car...until I realized it wasn't automatic transmission!

Okay, sorry, but 92 degres?  You're a wimp!!!!!  LOL

It was 112 today with a heat index of 122 because the humidity is up - so no sympathy for you.

Since you made me jealous with that great ride, I thought I'd make you jealous about the weather, LOL.

What FUN!!!!!

I do have to say that was a blast and being the center of attention was pretty nice also. (OK, maybe it was the car, but I was in it!)
