Now one thing amazing
about Pearson Air
Museum in Vancouver,
Washington, is that is housed in the oldest wooden hanger still in use
in the
United States and the air strip is still in use. Most air
museums are not at
working airports, but this one is and some of the planes coming in and
out are
amazing!

The oldest wooden hanger still in use in the nation!
One of the most famous people to have ever landed here was Charles Lindbergh, who flew over just after making his famous flight over the Atlantic, but later reported to have landed there many times over the years, including giving some autographs to some of the workers there.

Though this museum is small it does have some amazing planes and history about flight and what it has done for us as a county and how, without flight, we may not have the power we have today. There are many great stories from pilots throughout the museum, and to me that was just as impressive as some of the planes, if not more impressive.

If you are in anywhere near Pearson’s Air Museum, then I suggest you stop off and find out some of our history of flight. You will be amazed at what really has happened in the past 100 years and where the technology has taken us. Pearson's Air Museum is only about 30 minute drive from Beaverton, Oregon, so this is a great day trip for any family and when you are done there, you can walk next door the The Fort Vancouver and see the history that has happened there throughout the years.

Thought we would get one unusual family photo

Todd -Those are some really cool planes. I always wanted to take a ride in a biplane.
Todd, great photos of the airplanes. I particular do not like the smaller planes, well for that matter, any size.
Todd -
Fort Vancouver is a very interesting place.....and not as well know as it should be.
wow Todd...this is like a mini Smithsonian museum in your area...very nice
