Living Beaverton - Your guide to everything Beaverton

Are you looking for gifts that aren’t found in a regular store? Then check out Craftypalooza in Beaverton, Oregon.

Craftypalooza is a homemade craft fair in Beaverton, Oregon, and will have hundreds of vendors showing off their goods that aren’t the types of things that you are going to find in any store like Target or Fred Meyers. These items, in many cases, are one of a kind items such as earrings, necklaces, and even stuffed animals.

Holiday Bazaar by beketchai

Some of the best gifts I received as a kid are the ones that were homemade, and out of all the gifts that I have from when I was a child that I still have, those are the ones. I didn’t keep the stuff that came in a box, I kept the stuff that came from the heart.

When you buy something for someone at a craft fair or bazaar, you see an item that fits that person’s personality and that means a lot more to a person, or a child, than anything they may think they want because they saw it on a commercial during a TV show.

My grandfather made wooden toys for kids when he was alive and I remember many kid’s parents buying those items for their children and now those same toys are being passed down to their kids. Why? Because they loved those toys and those toys were built to last!

Imagine you are a little girl and you get your first pair of custom earrings? Do you think you are going to be the envy of all your friends? They certainly won’t be able to get their own pair, no matter how much they like them.

So, if you are interested in this one day Craftypalooza, then come on down to 4770 SW Hall Blvd, Beaverton, Oregon, 97005, on October 30th from 10:30am – 1:30pm and get a gift that won’t be forgotten.

Todd - I love homemade gifts, my grandpa is a woodsman and has made everyone in my family a piece of furniture at some point, I received a little rocking chair that got passed on although I wish I still had it.

I love, love, love craft fairs for all the reasons you mentioned!  Nothing compares to that handmade unique gift - & the shopping is WAY more fun than going to the mall!  We have several good ones coming up in the next several weeks, too - can't wait!

This looks like a lot of fun.  My boys love the few wooden toys they have.

The best gifts really are the ones that are made by hand, they just mean more and are a lot more personable.
