Living Beaverton - Your guide to everything Beaverton

A fun night can be had by all – Hockey Night in Portland

One of the things I love about Portland is that we have so many things to do. We don't have the big league sports, like Seattle, with football or a major league baseball team, but we do have minor league sports such as Beaver Baseball and Winter Hawk's hockey.

Tonight's blog is about the home opener of the Winter Hawks, that unfortunately they lost, but still, we all had fun and with a long season still ahead of the Winter Hawks, you may want to check out one of their games.

You can go to the Winter Hawks schedule page and order tickets for any home game and you and your family won't be disappointed.

What is so much fun about the minor league sports of Portland is that these kids are putting it all on the line, unlike a lot of professional big leaguers. They have to play their hearts out if they every want to make it to the big show! You can tell how passionate these kids are and how they still are willing to sign autographs for kids is even more wonderful.

So for a wonderful night in Portland with your family, I suggest you go the Winter Hawks home schedule page and plan a wonderful evening with your family.

Todd, I've been to a few of the Winter Hawks games and I really enjoyed them. It is amazing that some of those players are 16 year old kids! They sure give it all they've got.

Bridget - The youngest player this year is 15! He was awesome and it is amazing to watch them play. I had never been to a game before a few years ago when our best friends kid became a Jr. Winter Hawk. He has now at age 10 been picked up by a Seattle team and is looking good to go professional by age 12!

He is truly amazing to watch!
