It was 8am, we were getting up late as we decided to watch a movie after the kids went to bed, but when we walked out our bedroom door, we knew there was something different. We had our twelve year old daughter standing there all excited saying, “In the sun he melted, melted, in the sun he melted…”

That is from a song they learned when they were in primary at church called, “Once there was a snowman”. So, we knew we clearly had a snow event on our hands during night or early morning and the kids weren’t going to miss out on this one! (One of the advantages of homeschooling)

So, out they went, they have built their snowman and they even had an onlooker watching them from the fence. I do have to say they did a pretty good job, but now it is time for school kids, sorry.

When I was an executive with a trucking company, snow was a 4 letter word. My kids suffered. I love snow now!
I don't get snow as much now in Jacksonville Beach, FL as I did growing up in New Jersey; only miss it occasionally.
Todd- I always enjoyed seeing the snow. It sounds like they couldn't wait to get outside to build the snowman.
Todd, give me an address they can have as much of the stuff as they want. We're going to have it until May.
Todd,
You're blessed, What a great way to start the day!
Bill
Good for the kids! Let them enjoy their fun in the snow. School can start a little later in the Clark home today!
Our snow is melting here pretty fast the last few days. But we still will have plenty for your kids to make a trip to my back yard.
Do they get to go out and play in the snow during recess? We're expecting snow in Eugene on Sunday and Portland will get more snow too. They can build all the snowmen they want then.
Great photo, brings back memories of my own kids years ago, now I am a Grandpa in waiting. I especially love the little one with the hat hanging over her eyes. Great time their lives, and yours. Cherish these years, they are gone before you know it.
Todd,
You have made some great choices with the kids. Home schooling does give some major flexibility. Gerry #9 is right on...blink and they are all grown up. BTW, if you run out of snow, I'd be happy to mail you some. We are still buried out here!
I haven't seen snow for 10 years ... home schooling is so great, I wish it was popular when I was a kid.
Cool photo! I thought sure when I woke up this morning there would be snow in the yard - but nothing :) Maybe tonight.... (although I would be happy with spring too)
Todd,
That is neat to be able to that on the way to school and have it around. :)
Steve
Todd, great photo. My kids always loved the snow and as long as there wasn't much to shovel, I enjoyed it too. But, this year we're having an over abundance. I'm soooo ready for spring!
You are so lucky!! I miss those days with my kids when they were young.. you are so smart to take advantage of your time with them!! those are the moments they ( and you ) will always remember.
Todd,
Your kids are so beautiful! You are giving them a well rounded education through books and nature! Kudos to you and your wife!
Todd, that's a great photo of the kids all dressed up by the snowman!
