Part 1 (7:30am)
Mother Nature has decided to wake me up early again with sun coming through the sun roof, but I'm not going to let it get the best of me today. I got up and started breakfast and got the kids eating immediately!
Part 2 (8:30am)
The sun is still out, we are heading to the beach to have fun and since it is only a minute and a half away, we should beat any rain that should try to sneak in on us.

Part 3 (10:00am)
It's still sunny, so we are going to have some fun today! We are now heading to Netul Landing. (The place where Lewis & Clark landed when they arrived here at Fort Clatsop, the Netul river is now known as the Lewis and Clark River)

Part 4 (11:00am)
We decided to head back to Fort Clatsop today, because the kids had completed Part of 3 of their Junior Ranger badges and needed the stamp from Fort Clatsop and their badge from there as well. They taught my daughter how to start a fire with Flint and Steel. (We could be in trouble now.)
Part 5 (11:30am)
Lunch - the old fall back of BBQ Hotdogs!
Part 6 (12:15pm)
I haven't told the kids, but we are heading up to Washington to hit all the spots where Lewis and Clark were before they crossed the Columbia and built Fort Clatsop. The first stop was Dismal Nitch. This was the spot where Lewis and Clark's journey had to stop for 6 days because of a winter storm and they couldn't budge. They thought they were going to die less than 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean and their true destination.

The next stop was Cape Disappointment, learned a lot there and ended up seeing some more eagles, that was pretty cool.

Part 7 (6:00)
I'm letting my nine year old be the fire starter and dinner cooker tonight, let us see how she does with BBQ burgers. I ended up taking over on the burger cooking!
Part 8 (7:30)
We played games the rest of the night and cooked a few smores and really look forward to having some fun on our last day, doing whatever the day may bring.

Wait, there is more... 10pm we got a knock (OK, scratch) on the door and this is who we had as visitors to our yurt stopping by to say hello.

Looking out our yurt window at 10pm, but who do we see

There is three of us, our buddy knocked, if we beg, will that help?

How about if we look sad and give you puppy dog eyes?

What if there was a way you could search the MLS for FREE just like Realtors
Now you can access the MLS using similar tools as Realtors. You are in control of what you want to search for, and you can search the MLS at your leisure. The information you submit in the form below can also be used to put you on an automated system where you'll be emailed all homes that meet your search criteria. How fun....so cool doing the Lewis and Clark route.......(not related to you in any wayhuh?) Oh and are you going to check out Canon Beach or have you been there before?
Todd - It looks like you guys are having a great time. This brings back a lot of memories of camping with our kids when they were young.
Am going back to read about the beginning of your vacation travels.
I had to Google 'Yurt". Had no idea what it was. :-)
How about a few interior pics? I'm guessing it's like a big tent? Furnished?
Todd,
You're really becoming theee story teller...are you a descendant of the 'Clark' as in Lewis & Clark!!! And I thought for sure you would tell us what the heck a 'yurt' is, but I guess I'll have to Google it as soon as I finish this comment!!! Oh, and BTW, what kind of
varmintscritters were they??? :) Thanks, FranP.S. Great looking family!!!
Good times! Those masked visitors only come out at night! My dogs treed one this week and mould not let him down. He got down when they were asleep.
Liz - We have been to Canon Beach many times and love it! Nope not related that we could find, we went through his family tree yesterday.
Jesse - It is so much fun, now that the sun is out!
Randy - I think my wife might be the opposite, Runs for the sun and hey look a bug. She burns even thinking about the sun.
Greg - I've never been of Texas and one day hope to get to visit all 50 states!
Nancy - Only got a car big enough for us and the dog and I'm not sure that is enough - lol (I'm glad you found a yurt, I will take a picture and include it in my last post about the vacation tonight or tomorrow morning.
Fran - Thanks! I'm not a member of Clark's family sad to say, but I will post about the yurt tonight, you are right, I did forget to do that. (Those are Raccoons and those little buggers have learned how to beg)
Charles - Dogs, should have went in shifts, might have had a chance. (LOL)
Hey Todd! That is awesome. Mostly we just get coyotes and jackrabbits out here. Keep us posted on the rest of your trip!
